The Plot Window provides line cuts through the ccd image.

-----

The plot window

The plot window is automatically opened at start up. If it is closed or hidden, it may be brought back to the front by selecting the tools option, plot... sub-option from the main menu.

The Plot window shows either a row or column cut of the image corresponding to the current image cursor location. Clicking on a point in the main display window, in the zoom window, or in the values window relocates the location of the plot cut.

Row and column plots are selected by the buttons in the lower left of the window.

The stretch (range of values plotted) is adjusted by typing in the upper and lower limits into their respective boxes on the left side of the graph.

The extent of the row or column plotted can be adjusted by changing the limits beneath the graph. By default, the plot shows the entire row or column.

If you click on a point within the plot window, the x and y coordinates of that point are displayed. This makes it easy, e.g., to read the peak value of a curve. (Warning, the displayed values are the x and y values of the point that you clicked on, this is not necessarily the same as the value of the pixel that is at the x coordinate that you clicked on.)
