This page describes the data format that is used by the program described in this manual.

The ccd readout program produces standard 16-bit signed FITS files. The dynamic range of the data is from 0 to 65535, which will not fit in a 16-bit signed word; to get around this limitation, 32768 has been subtracted from the data values, and BZERO is set appropriately (BSCALE is always 1).
